Renowned South East Queensland Painter, Jenni Kelly, and emerging Hot Flame & Textile supporting artist, Carmel White, invite you to their latest exhibition titled “Flight” to be held at the Tina Cooper Gallery from 5th November 2010 until the end of January 2011.
The opening night will be on Friday 5th November at 5:30pm at the Tina Cooper Gallery, 106 Memorial Drive, Eumundi (The Top End of Town). Drinks and Nibbles will be provided and RSVP’s are essential to 07 5442 8110 for catering purposes.
Jenni achieves a realistic expression in her creative freestyle painting leaving the viewer free to excise their own imagination. These paintings have an appealing sense of colour, freedom and movement with subjects close to nature and thus the title of the exhibition was coined i.e. “Flight”. The vivid imagery and sense of movement in her work is a feast to one’s eyes.
Various forms of craft have always played a part in Carmel White’s life, but her desire for "Something Different" led her to her first lesson in glass bead making where she found her niche. She hand crafts organic beads from molten glass at the Tina Cooper Gallery in Eumundi where she gains inspiration and encouragement from a variety of artists.
Carmel came up with the idea of combining mixed media with the glass in her creations, so she set about having a crash course in the wonders of glues, fibres, embossing powders, paints and the magic a heat gun can produce. Thus her mixture of glass and mixed media was born.
Jenni and Carmel welcome all art lovers to come and view their latest work as the exhibition will run until the end of January 2011 and would especially like you to come to their opening night where you will be able to meet the artists and discuss their inspirations and stories.
All enquiries regarding the exhibition and RSVP’s should be directed to the Tina Cooper Gallery on phone 07 5442 8110 or email
