Ramada Resort Corporate Art

Local, world renowned hot glass artist, Tina Cooper, has installed her first Corporate/Public Art instalation, a fantasy coral reef creation in the foyer of the brand new Ramada Hervey Bay Resort.
The resort is a short walk from the pristine waters of the Fraser Coast. The lifestyle resort is dedicated to providing a memorable holiday experience and Tina's foyer installation will bring the vibrancy of Australia's coral reefs to the welcoming guests.

The developer of the Ramada Resort, Mr Timothy Wright, was inspired to incorporate a suspended public art component in the resort following his overseas travels and as a lover of the uniqueness of hot glass commissioned Tina Cooper to create her magic for him.

Tina exceeded his greatest expectations and designed an awe inspiring representation of Australia's famous coral reefs with a 2 x 2 metres floating glass ceiling filled with sea shape to feel like you are looking up under the seafloor itself.
As you ascend the foyer staircase the walls are filled with assorted colourful 3 dimensional coral clusters with a giant glass jelly fish chandelier majestically suspended in mid air.
The vibrant colours of our coral reefs shine exquisitely with the medium of molten glass and the multitude of coral clusters, cheeky character fish, seaweed and stingrays takes the viewer on a journey of awe at the beauty of what lies off Australia's northern coastline.
Tina's inspiration comes from her own visits to the Great Barrier Reef and her subsequent creation of her Reef Series in hot glass art. She believes that "The reef is such an amazing natural life force we have to offer the world and we need to protect it.
What I am trying to do is get people to understand that my pieces represent a piece of the coral reef to take home instead of taking the real thing from our reef and destroying it".
To create this masterpiece she assembled her team of glass blowers at the Sunshine Coast Hot Glass Studio - Greg Royer, Jonathon Westacott, Matthew Quirk, Lisa Delanoue and Scott Woolcock who together accomplished the mammoth task of bringing to reality the concept that she had in mind.
She also commissioned Roger Chadwick to use his expertise to install the installation, Gary Lyell for steel fabrication and Wolfgang Engel
to make fine corals on the blow torch and delicate seahorse figures to bring another dimension to the work.
Tina Coopers Gallery in Eumundi has examples of all the works created for the Ramada commission and for further information on this unique installation please contact the Tina Cooper Gallery Manager, Roscoe Bell.
